I realize that sometimes I get a little serious when I’m talking about things that I am passionate about. So I thought today I would lighten things up a bit.
After all, I have always said, “life is meant to be enjoyed.”
To start out I am going to list some, I think, funny or at least interesting names for groups of animals.
A cauldron of Bats A parade of Elephants A gang of Elk
A tower of Giraffes A conspiracy of Lemurs A romp of Otters
A prickle of Porcupines A crash of Rhinoceroses An Ambush of Tigers
A gulp of Cormorants A gaggle of Geese A flamboyance of Flamingos
A parliament of Owls An audience of Squid
An Audience of Squid
By the way, the black long-spined animals in the audience are sea urchins, Diadema antillarum. Something you will want to look out for if you’re wading the tidal flats around the Southern Florida coast or the Caribbean. In any case, the audience of squid and the sea urchins in the audience appear to be enjoying whatever underwater concert this is.
Perhaps it’s a performance by: Rose Lace Coral and the Sea Anemones. Or: Queen Angelfish with Sergeant Major, Beaugregory, and Pipefish. Or, maybe the Circus is in town and they are being entertained by a Clownfish. We just don’t know but they look interested in what’s going on.
Okay. Back to the names of animal groups. I know those are not fall-over-laughing funny names for groups of animals. But, you have to admit they are a little bit funny and sometimes make you go: What?
And the grand finale…
