We are all going around in circles; literally, but it’s a good thing in so many ways. That’s right, every morning when we get up we start more than one journey. As we make our way through the day Mother Earth is also on a journey and fortunately, we have no choice but to join her.

Every 24 hours our planet Earth makes one full revolution. We don’t even feel it but it happens all the same. All the plants and animals on the planet join us and so does our atmosphere. We’re all on this journey in space together around our very own sun. In fact, we are all on two journeys because as we rotate on earth every 24 hours the earth is rotating around the sun. Every 365 and ¼ days. The Earth and we travel about 1,600,000 miles a day in our journey around the Sun.

It’s quite a trip if you stop and think about it. We don’t, of course. Think of all the things we all share because of these extraordinary journeys.

One thing is the sunrise, another is the sunset. Every day we are all part of these extraordinary events and mostly because we are involved in our everyday lives we don’t take the time to notice them. But they are extraordinary.

“When you do something noble and beautiful and nobody noticed, do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle and yet most of the audience still sleeps.”-John Lennon.

I will also point out that we, (Mother Earth, the sun, and the other planets in our solar system), reside within one of the spiral arms of our Galaxy that is, you guessed it, spinning in a circle. It takes the sun around 225 -250 million years to make one revolution around our galaxy’s center. This is known as a cosmic year.

So, the next time you find yourself going around in circles, feeling like you’re not accomplishing anything, just stop and think for a minute. We’re all going around in circles and sometimes that’s a good thing.
